Mike Montgomery talks about the Warriors and why they’re changing the way the basketball is being played

Mike Montgomery is someone who knows a little something about basketball in the Bay Area. He was the long-time Stanford coach before taking over on the sidelines for the Golden State Warriors in the mid-2000s. He finished up his coaching career — at least for now — with successful seasons at Cal.

Montgomery joined us on the “NBA This Week” show and talked a lot of Warriors and NBA basketball. Montgomery shared his ideas and impressions on the beauty of Warriors’ basketball, why they’re changing the way the game is played and how to defend Stephen Curry … if there is any kind of a way.

In addition to talking with Montgomery, co-hosts Matt Steinmetz and John Dickinson talked about a variety of Warriors- and NBA-related topics, including whether or not Golden State’s double-overtime victory over the Boston Celtics in Boston was their most impressive win of the year, why Klay Thompson has been brilliant lately and if and when turnovers and/or foul shooting will ever hurt this team.
