‘NBA This Week’: Wrapping up trade deadline; Kings’ situation dicey; why Boston sat tight; interviews with Marc Zumoff, the voice of the 76ers, and the Washington Post’s Tim Bontemps

On the “NBA This Week,” we welcomed Philadelphia 76ers play-by-play man Marc Zumoff and the Washington Post’s Tim Bontemps to the show. It was a busy week in the NBA, so there was a lot to talk about.

Here’s link to interview with Marc Zumoff, television voice of the 76ers.

Among the topics discussed on the show:

–It wasn’t the most active of trading deadlines in the NBA, but that didn’t mean there wasn’t a big deal made a few days before Thursday. The Sacramento Kings sent DeMarcus Cousins and Omri Casspi (since waived) to the New Orleans Pelicans for rookie Buddy Hield, Tyreke Evans and Langston Galloway, plus a first- and second-round pick.

‘Warriors WrapUp’: 50-point third quarter highlights 123-113 win over Clippers; Warriors make nine 3-pointers in period; Pachulia, West return

Well, that escalated quickly. It was a relatively calm, cool and collected game between the Clippers and Warriors on Thursday night at Oracle — until it wasn’t. And once the game got a little chippy, shall we say, the Warriors took control and rode it to a xxx-xxx victory, their 10th straight over the Clippers.

Warriors general manager Bob Myers: on whether he was GM candidate in LA; how close Warriors were to making deal; difference between this trade deadline and past ones, more

Nobody really expected the Golden State Warriors to be active at Thursday’s trade deadline — and they did not disappoint. The Warriors are sitting at 47-9, the best record in the NBA, so general manager Bob Myers wasn’t exactly on the phone 24/7 all week.

Still, Myers made it clear on 95.7-FM The Game that he still must monitor what’s going on around the league and gather information that may be pertinent down the line. We had a chance to discuss Thursday’s trade deadline, and lots of other stuff with Myers.

Here’s link to interview with Bob Myers on 95.7-FM The Game.

Among the topics:

–We asked Myers about the report that the Los Angeles Lakers contacted him about their vacant GM position earlier this week. The Lakers shook up their front office, with Jim Buss and Mitch Kupchak getting fired and Magic Johnson taking over to run things.
